Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Careertimeline collects the minimum information necessary to provide the service. When you create an account we collect your name and email address. When you use the app you provide job application data, notes, tasks, and resume profile information — all of which is stored exclusively on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties. We do not run behavioural advertising. We do not build profiles based on your usage for sale to data brokers. We do not collect your device's contacts, location, camera, or microphone.

3. AI Processing

When you use AI features (cover letter, interview prep, job analysis, resume scoring), the relevant text — job description and/or your profile fields — is sent to a third-party AI API (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or Google Gemini) via an encrypted HTTPS request using the API key you provide. This data is processed to generate a response and is not retained by Careertimeline. Please refer to Anthropic's, OpenAI's, and Google's own privacy policies for how they handle API requests.

4. Local Storage

All app data (jobs, profiles, planner tasks) is stored locally on your device using iOS on-device storage. Nothing is uploaded to external servers by Careertimeline. Your data does not leave your device except when you explicitly trigger an AI feature.

5. iCloud Sync

Future versions of the app may offer optional iCloud sync. If offered, it will be opt-in and clearly labelled. Any iCloud data is covered by Apple's iCloud privacy policy.

6. Authentication

If you sign in with Apple, your Apple ID credential is processed by Apple's Sign in with Apple framework. We receive only a unique identifier and optionally your name and email. Google and LinkedIn sign-in flows may be added in future updates; these would be governed by the respective providers' OAuth flows.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your credentials and all associated local data from your device. No residual data is retained by Careertimeline.

8. Children's Privacy

Careertimeline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy by updating the "Last updated" date and providing an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
